FAQ
What
kind of tape are PRO-STIX®
made from?
PRO-STIX®
are only available in PolyKen® 105C. This double-faced
tape has a polyethylene film (which will facilitate ease in application,
paper creases, tears and does not form well to the radius of pads) on
the front and a 70 lb. high grade silicone coated lay flat release paper
on the back. While the adhesive system is extremely aggressive, the 105C
will leave no adhesive residue upon removal from the jersey or shoulder
pad because we use only a "reclaim rubber" adhesive on
our product. If you are experiencing adhesive residue, you are not
using a rubber adhesive. Any other adhesive will increase your
time spent on removal and ruin your equipment. It is a Cotton/Polyester
based blend for one piece removal, vinyl based will not come
off in one piece if at all!
Are
PRO-STIX®
reusable?
No,
but we have heard a story where a player's pads were taped for a game,
he ended up not dressing for that game, the Equipment Manager left the
PRO-STIX on for the entire week of practice and removed
the blue release liner on the pads for the following week's game. Try
that with roll tape!
Don't
you think they're a little expensive?
No,
and we realize they're not for everyone. We could use an inferior
tape in the manufacturing of our PRO-STIX®,
but we're not going to. The small amount of money you would save is not
worth the headaches you (and we) will gain!! Vinyl based tape with a "hot
melt" adhesive RUINS UNIFORMS AND SHOULDER PADS and we will not sell it.
PRO-STIX® are not a big money maker for us, they were
created to be a big convenience for you. If you add up the cost of your
tape per roll and how many pads you can tape per roll, you'll find that
PRO-STIX® are not costing your program as much as you
may think. The average cost of a quality tape is $12.00, and average
yield is two full sets of pads. PRO-STIX® cost you
.98 cents more to tape two pads. NOW... FACTOR IN
THE COST OF YOUR TIME.
I
can't afford to use PRO-STIX®.
If you're
an equipment manager on the professional or collegiate level, and you
tape pads... YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO USE PRO-STIX®.
How many times have you said to yourself when taping, "there's got to
be a better way." The better way is here, take advantage of it!
